Joy Humbarger is an Early Childhood Coach Educator and Founder of Maximize Your Leadership

I am a fun-loving, adventure-seeking, thought-provoking leader/coach who loves creating space for you to grow!  I know the ropes in the early childhood field after 20 years as a teacher and another 20 years as a highly sought-after early childhood adult educator.   It is where my heart lives and a field where those in the “trenches” are superheroes.

More than 30 years ago I envisioned transforming the lives of children through their teachers and administrators.  That dream became a reality as I moved into the world of adult educator, quality initiatives coach, performance leadership coach and coach trainer.  I love teaching others how to have conversations that create excitement, engagement, and sustained change.

My thirst to create better classrooms and outcomes for children led to researching the field of coaching and writing the internationally recognized curriculum, Strengths-Based Coaching: A Journey into Coaching©️.

I attended a 360-hour International Coach Federation (ICF) accredited training program in 2013 and achieved the ICF credential, Professional Certified Coach (PCC) in 2015.  The program so inspired me that I became a mentor coach for their students for three years before returning to my first love: early childhood education.

Using the tools I have gained in my own coaching journey over the last 40 years, I’ve now written a new curriculum, Coaching to Success©️.  As an early childhood technical assistant/coach, I want you to be successful and confident in your work.  This curriculum will take you there!

I have presented at the NAEYC and NHSA conferences, the International Family Childcare Conference, and trained at many organizations and public schools across the world that provide coaching services to teachers of students from early childhood through high school.

I have trained over 8,000 leaders across the world, and coached over 1,000 leaders in one-to-one coaching settings, helping individuals and teams shift from resistance to being engaged, passionate, positive, productive, and focused on solutions-based thinking.

Joy's training expanded my thinking when it comes to problem solving.  I realized that before the training, I was following my ideas before my provider’s.  I learned how to expand my thinking when it comes to problem solving, let go of my ideas and mantras when I’m at the door, and to be open and confident as a coach.

Piper (pictured above) is my office assistant and we are eager to meet you.  We love playing with the grandboys and she’s a constant companion and cheerleader when my husband and I are playing rummy or disc golf, or kicking back to read or watch a good detective mystery.
